WHAT ARE PEOPLE SAYING?

SimPulse (formerly DC Racing)

“It’s incredibly solid. During my testing, I found that at no point did I feel like there was any play, movement, or wobble even on the toughest setting and in the most intense of races. This is mainly thanks to its, yet again, fantastic construction… actually most of the movement you see in the video is actually from my rig…

… a really nice and hefty actuation force. With the actuation of the shifter lever being more progressive, rather than linear as you might think. Actually, the feeling is surprisingly similar to my KZ shifter cart. The only major difference being the lack of direct feedback from the gearbox itself.

I’ve trusted this shifter so much that I actually use it on a daily basis, and even on iRacing open lobbies. Massive praise from me.”

Race Beyond Matter

“… Knowing that Oktane V3 utilized a magnetic system, I had a bit low expectations for my personal taste, but was very pleasantly surprised with the level of engagement once I started driving around the track with the Subaru. Somehow felt different than the Heusinkveld and I can feel almost progressive load on the lever.

That being said, it doesn't have the bite feeling the other complex mechanisms can produce, but as I've said many times before in my opinion all that is noticeable difference if shifting slowly. If I start slamming the gears around the track those differences almost disappear and I'm equally engaged with all those options.

Now, from all those options I talk about, this is the only one you can take as a DIY package, do it yourself and save some serious cash. For $229* and a few hours of your personal time investment is the most affordable great sequential you can get. The build guide looks very clean. I really believe this is the best value as a top shifter if you're not afraid to put some things together.

Quality-wise, it's on an industrial level and is built to last for years. I can easily rate it among the other good choices I have tested and am still using around my rig. For me, it's definitely another great option with unique magnetic system, and for sure makes me excited going around the track.”

Grayze Dynamics

“This is amazing. If you’re looking for a shifter, and you want something that feels like a real race car… and I’ve never been in one… but I would presume this is how it feels. You can beat up on it. But again, there’s not much to say about it because it’s simple… it does everything you need it to do. It has a rawness to it… I absolutely like it.”

Teflon Papi

“… what I love about this is it has really definitive shifts, so you know when you’re shifting up, you know when you’re shifting down… It’s a very sturdy piece of equipment, and one of the best pieces of sim racing equipment that I own.”

Karl Gosling

“… the operation of this – it feels smooth, it feels solid… it’s a nice shifter… I like the grip. I like the appearance. I like the finish. I like the way it operates. There’s actually nothing I don’t like about this shifter… apart from… that fractional [mechanical] delay. Whilst it affects nothing in reality, it’s still there. Can I really call that a negative? Is it really fair to call that a negative as it doesn’t actually affect anything? I don’t know. You decide. But yes, aside from that, I have no complaints about this shifter at all. I can recommend it.”

Petter Hegevall

“Oktane Designs SEQ Shifter V2 simply gives a very, very realistic feel that I think is closest to how today's WRC cars feel. I had the opportunity to play around with WRC driver Ott Tänak's gearstick (Ford Puma WRC) during Rally Sweden and was surprised at how close Vern really came with his gearbox.”

SleepyPants SimRacing

“I absolutely love how this feels, like every aspect of it… I didn’t think I was gonna be this blown away by this experience, because I just expected it to be push-and-pull, and have this work good enough. I’m like, there’s no way a magnetic one can match a mechanical feeling shifter… and I’ve been proven wrong. I like this better.”

Serial Driver

“Very very nice shifter as expected.  Satisfying throw, close to a rally car. At least it makes you think you are in one.”

The SimRacing Den

“This is one of the most satisfying and fun experiences I’ve had with a piece of sim racing hardware, which surprised me... This shifter takes things to another level. The tactile feeling of engaging a gear leaves you with zero doubt you changed gears.”

OC Racing

“From a build quality perspective, it is second to none… This shifter offers an extremely firm and tactile shifting experience. Overall, the feel and immersion brought upon by this shifter has left me seriously impressed… For those in search of the utmost this hobby has to offer, I reckon it doesn’t get much better than this.”

Aero Veloce

“It feels amazing! This shifter is extremely tactile… Banging gears in a rally or drift car is extremely satisfying. It’s so good I just wanna drive more and more sequential gearbox cars. With how tactile it is, mis-shifting doesn’t even seem to be possible.”
